Harbour Festival and Streets Partys

The summer is not over. still plenty of chances of jumping in the water, and having fun. And a lot of reasons to go outdoor and have fun. I love this old video with Mungo Jerry– so rest in next 4 minutes, and enjoy the Beards.

Out in Bellahøj, they have some pretty tall buildings, with a great view of Copenhagen. And here there is a new Circus group of Acrobats “The Voyages of Companie XY ”, That are performing up in the air, in between the houses. Go and check it out. It should be quite amazing,

We are in still in the Era of Street partys. This Saturday you can hit three of them. Nansensgade   Skydebanegade Jægerborggade and Århusgade Flee Market. And The Bicycle Flee Market at Buddha Bikes in Bolsjefabrikken.

Antifascist Football tournament is taking place at Blågårds Plads with DJ´s and other stuff.

Kulturhavn 2019 is taking place all over the Harbour from Friday to Sunday. Loads of events in and around the harbor. https://kulturhavn.kk.dk

Live Music

Thursday 22nd

Loppen is finally opening again after the summer break. She Wants Revenge, is a California rock band, playing Rock, with a dry guitar, and good vocals. I can here some Post Punk Bauhaus here. The other band is Gliss, that has been around in many years, and are now releasing there 7th album. Its a bit more Indie dreamlike, with soft vocals.

Matt Woods is from Tennessee and is visiting Lygtens Kro with his simple Folk/Country/Rock and songs of social problems from the real life. I am thinking a bit of Bruce Springsteen. I will be at the floor.

For cool electronic music, head for Kaj – din ven i solen, at the canal by Hal C in Christianshavn. Its free and DJ´s Kresten and Madvig are hosting.

Friday 23rd

UHØRT (Unheard) Festival focuses on the newest Danish artists who have the potential to break through on the Danish music scene. This year it’s the 7th version of and 39 of the newest Danish artists will attend the 3 stages at the festival site with energy and enthusiasm. It’s at Enghavevej 80 (AFUK)

Hellhorse is a not too bad Arena Rock band. They have made a new record “Hydra”, and is performing a release Concert at Hotel Cecil. They are good on stage, and has been warming up to Rammstein, Slayer and AC/DC.

For your weekly Reggae / Dancefloor event, head out for Operaen at Christiania, with a couple of bands and DJ’s. Cash only

Råhuset – Vesterbro – are inviting you for a pretty good evening. The Vacant Lots are back in Denmark after being a support band for BMRC. They are a Noise/Punk/Indie band, and are covering a lot of miles these days. They will also soon be supporting The Dandy Warhol’s. Now they are the big name and are supported by Deadpan and Mavourneen ( Who are also at the Uhørt festival same evening)

Saturday 24th

Underwerket is stepping out of the Punk Rock genre for a brief moment and are going for a Drum N Bass event. Loads of DJ´s will make the dance floor sweat.

Operaen are hosting a new concert organiser. Alterlatino are presenting Tunche Soundsystem, and it is a live band “an explosion of musical anarchy that revolutionizes the fusion between Latin rhythms and electronic sounds.” Could be good for showing your dancing skills at the Floor.

Just around the Corner from Operaen, you find Christiania Jazzklub, and here they are opening after the summer break. Apartment are having a release party, and the organiser – Regns rec – are having other Live names and DJ´s on he Bill. I don’t know them, but it will for sure be an interesting evening. Bring cash for the door and the bar.

Tuesday 27th

Eels (Or just E) are back in Denmark. Last time he played at the Royal Theatre, but now he is are more fitting place: The Grey Hall of Christiania. His text filled with sorrow and pain (and a great humour), goes right to the heart, so I will be at the floor listening to the great band. Supported by Robert Ellis

Wednesday 28th

Molly is not just the name of a Dog, but also the name of a local band playing Rock/Post punk/Indie. Its a Free concert at Byhaven and   Blood Child is warming up.

Ellebæk is a detention centre for Refugees seeking Asylum in Denmark. They live under bad conditions and this Tuesday there is a Support concert for them at AliceCph in Nørrebro. Elijah Okello is an upcoming Copenhagen-based artist. Throughout the summer Elijah has been giving a lot of good concerts, and on this night,  you can expect to experience his danceable music with the elements of soul, R&B, hip-hop and electronic funk.
