I wish you and all of your friends and Family a happy new year. Its time to buy a new calender to your wall. We are going into the 20´s with a lot of good spirit and Man made climate changes. Take care of your self out there because the fireworks are going lower this year.
In Pusherstreet in Christiania they say that you can see on the amount of fireworks, if it has been a good year selling drugs. I can tell you from looking out of my window on Nørrebro, That there is a lot of fireworks ont he street and in the sky. So the drug business must be good out here.

Friday 27th
Last Concert of the Decade in Loppen is Sankt Hell with double horned Music from Sweden and Denmark. FireBreather (Swe) is sludge, Besvärjelsen (Swe), (0) (Dk), Nyt Liv (DK) and Alkymist. This will tear your ears of, and leave them bleeding on the floor.

Frede Fup is always a Party, and so it will be this time on the home turf in Amager Bio. I remember a story about how much beer that was sold to a Frede Fup concert. It was amazing!!! Everybody is having a good time, and Xmas is far away, so its warming up to new Years eve.

In Hotel Cecil they are presenting another Funky Night with Ridin Thump´s 12 piece orchestra, that will make your hips and your head go wild. Its also tomorrow December 28th

Saturday 28th
Mikkel Nordsø is not so young anymore, but he can make an Awesome concert with his band, that blends Jazz, Rock, Psych, metal and probably a bit more. So come to Amager Bio, and get refreshed.

Magtens Korridorer are performing in KB Hallen, and there are only a few tickets left, so get one if you are still in town.

Orgelheimers are performing at Studenterhuset next to Rundetårn. A farewell to 2019 with classics on Organ, and you can stay and dance to the DJ at the afterparty.

In Bolsjefabrikken there a Dub evening in unity with Doktor Lond & Most High Warriah Sound System – and a special warm up selection by Jah Ø’Man!

Sunday 29th
Everybody remembers the Blues Brothers, and here is a show that plays the most funky music you have ever heard. All the classics from the Movie, performed by a dedicated band. Amager bio is putting up the stage for the last concert of the year.

Monday 30th
Benal is a couple of Danish Rappers (Benjamin and Albert), and the two first concerts at Store Vega are sold out, so this is the third in a row.

I thought that Poul Dissing had retired, but there is still one last chance to see the legend. At Koncertkirken in Blågårds Plads he is performing with New Jungle Orchestra. So its World class jazz, to make you swing.

Tuesday 31st of December New years eve.
Party Like Gatsby will take you back to 1920´s Berlin and Cabaret. It will be a splendid evening in Store Vega, but I rather spend my New Years evening at a dinner party with good friends.

You can also celebrate New year at Operaen Christiana, where there will also be DJ´s and life music.

Culture Box opens at 10 pm, and keeps on going until daylight hits your painful eyes. It will be DJ´s performing the best electronic music in both The Black and The Red Box.

Also at AFUK Enghavevej, Vesterbro they are having a New years party. There are more electronic DJ´s at Cph Deep sexy New Year Shabang starting an hour before midnight.

Suddenly the Streets are empty. There is plenty of room on the bike tracks, and its no problem to find parking space for your car. What has changed? Its Xmas and half of the Copenhagen population have gone back to the family in Jutland. I Guess they are playing “Driving home for Xmas”, on the way. Speaking of Xmas songs: I am dead tired of all these songs playing in Christmas. Its the only time of year, where you just have one kind of songs. And its the same, year after year. I am not looking forward to January, because I like the Christmas party´s and Holidays. Well anyway. Happy winter solstice – The days are getting longer again.

Sport:
Xmas Blood for the 6th year in a row in Ungdomshuset. It will be bloody when the Muy Thai fighters enter the ring and get down to it. Its a Anti – Fa arrangement, and there are DJ´s in between the fights.

Wednesday 18th
In Mayhem on Østerbro you can see the 1984 Cult film Repo Man. After the movie Plays Hola Ghost which is a Danish Rock band playing in style of Mexican Mariachi. This is the thing that will make your Wednesday a lot better. Bring Cash – No Cards.

Nulle is playing Clarinet and is now 81 years old. Here he is with Verdensorkestret, performing Jazz at Christianshavns Bådudlejning in the Canal. Mikael Simpson should drop by.

Thursday 19th
There is heavy duty Hip Hop at Loppen with the quartet of Diamond D, Sadat X, Large Professor og A.G. (D.I.T.C). This is really classic Hip Hop, with the best of the best, so get going and save your Xmas. After this you can go to the family party with no worries.

Friday 20th
Support Concert for Rojava in Syria, that has been faced with an invasion from Turkey, and have had to flee their homes, farms and businesses. The support concert in Pumpehuset, will feature Savage Rose, Trypical Cumbria, Mizgin & Quartet and Nexø. There will also be speeches and Live Skype connection from Rojava.

Smoky Festival at Loppen when the Freetown Dub Festival are taking of with loads of Soundsystems, Dubs and old school Reggae. Its both inside and outside, so you can fire up on a cracker. Its the whole weekend Friday + Saturday.

Eluvietie is Swiss Folk/Metal, and they are performing in Amager Bio. The 9 person band includes a fiddle and flute. It also sounds a bit like some Eurovision song.

Another Danish Rap gang from the 1990´s is Den Gale Pose, with Jokeren in front. They are back at Lille Vega, giving you there old hits, and most probably with some guest on the stage.

Mary Nantayiro’s are performing with a New song Release Party. At Operaen it will be afropop, dancehall, reggae, afrobeat and everything in between! Bring Cash for entrance and Bar.

Saturday 21st
You can still get a ticket for Bikstok in Lille Vega. It will be a great Party with Dancehall Rhymes in the best style.

Dale Smith Blues Trio is performing Old School Blues at Christianshavn Bådudlejning in the canal. As always it will be cosy and personal.


Tuesday 24th If you have nothing else to do, and you don´t like to stay at home, head for Den Grå Hal and the Juleaften here. An Abundance of free food, and performances by many different artists. It starts at 6 PM and Bring Cash.

After you have filled your stomach with the best food, you can go down to Riesen Bar in Vesterbro where they are having a DJ and good Company. A good occasion to get laid. 😉

Xmas is almost gone

In the Christmas Race we are now entering the almost final week. Soon you can see the Finish Line, and then it will be all over. No more Xmas songs, Brown Cakes, Pepper Nuts, Risalamande, Gløgg. Down goes the Xmas decorations.
You have survived another Christmas, and can raise your arms and cheer. Congratulations !!!
But you still have some time to go, and one event you should´nt miss is the annual Floating Lucia Parade, taking place in the canals Friday December 13th around Kayak Bar and Christianshavn. Its always a grand event, with singing and cheering.
The Grå Hal X-Mas Market is continuing, but don’t go there in the weekend. Then you wont survive. Also at Galloperiet in The Loppe building they have a nice cosy market with foodies. Hallelujah

Wednesday 11th
Speed Metal at Pumpehuset when Marduk (Sverige), Attic and Unlight (Schweitz/Deutschland) are performing.

More Swedish at Lille Vega, when Refused are dropping by with Pure Punk Rock. They are coming back from the Future in the 1990´s with a fresh attitude.

And even more Swedish in Amager Bio and the Name: The Flower kings says is all. Its Psych inspired 1960´s Hippie Rock.

Thursday 12th
Hurula is from Umeå Sweden, and the new hope for Swedish rock. With strong vocals and lyrics he should be really good on a stage. Warming up at Loppen are Sun Bather with members from Gorilla Angreb.

Also this year The Sankt Annæ Gymnasium is making a X-Mas Concert at Operaen Christiania. The Big Band will perform the good old X-mas tunes together with new Jazz classics. And there is Gløgg, Risalamande and foodies. Cash Only.

When you look at it Vanløse is not that far away. Specially not when you have Orcas with a concert, supported by Myreskær and Big Mess. Danish Beer and Social Realistic Lyrics, it will be a good evening.

Hot Chip is Electro pop at its best. “The best Intellectual dance band in the world”. You can find them at Store Vega.

Friday 13th
For some Danish political Hip Hop go to Loppen and Von Dü. Its both Hip Hop with a big touch of reggae, and the Concerts are turning out to be a real party. Supporting is Verdensmænd with a Caribbean inspired Rap.

This years Christmas concert at Alice is with Mames Babagenush, who are a local band playing Nordic / East European / Balkan inspired tunes. It will be a real party, and since the Saturday concert got sold out in an instant there is a second on Friday.

Ungdomshuset have another Punk Concert, the last before X-Mas. Its an international ACAB (13.12) hardcore day featuring Animal Club (Bel), Hypcrite (Local), Obstruktion (Swe) and Kalik (Horsens). Bring cash for entrance and bar.

In Raahuset there is Electronic Music for you with Bokamosa. It consist of 7 different DJ´s and I believe it will be a Magnifique dance party.

Elevatorfører is High Class Psychedelic rock, and now they have been playing for 10 years. They are ending the celebration tour in Vanløse Kulturhus, so another good evening for spacing out.

Saturday 14th
Acid Arab are back at Pumpehuset after the concert in January that turned out to be the best dance party. Its Electronic with Analogue instruments and vocals, and a Techno Mix with traditional folk music from the Middle East. The Paris Based Duo will make you dance like never before.

Your Disco evening this weekend is in Bolsjefabrikken, with Disco Rebels and three different DJ´s playing underground Disco, Roots, Dubwise and steppa. Cash Only.

You can experience the incredible The Courettes in a special X-Mas show and release of there new Christmas single. The Garage Rock Duo will perform at Raahuset with the Support of Chris & Kenn.

Mikael Simpson is not a figure from The Simpsons, but a really good Rock / Indie musician and text writer and here he is with his Sølvstorm Band. To have a show with Mikael at a small venue like Loppen is really a Scoop, and if you have the time and the energy, you should go for it.

Xmas at Draghouse is all about dragging up your favourite Christmas songs and impersonating your favourite stars. The Draghuse is in stre Vega, and you will have one of the best and funny nights of the Xmas.

Sunday 15th
Rasmus Nørh is on stage at Hotel Cecil with his sweet lyrics and simple pop cords. It smeel like summer here in the middle of December.

Tuesday 17th
Metropolis is a ground Breaking Movie from 1927 by German Fritz Lang. The Plant x Izumi-San, is an experimental ambient / jazzcore-duo from Japan who are perfoming their dark and sonic music for the film. Loppen are putting up the Silver screen and stage.

In December you have a full ram drunk party, with Julefrokost pukes all over the place. It finals with New years eve, and then we wake up to the reality, of having overspend, the pockets are empty, and the whole month of January is just one long depressing hangover. All The Live Music venues are closing down. Some of them like Stengade are already taking a break know and until the start of February. So enjoy your life as much as you can. Because it gets worse.

The Christmas Markets are continuing. Got to The Grey Hall, and drink some Gløgg and get into the real Christmas atmosphere. Værnedamsvej Absalons kirke House of Greenland

Here is something for the Simpson nerds. Okilly Dokilly are playing Metal / Hard Rock with quotes only from the figure called Ned Flanders. Its at Stengade and probably a once in a lifetime event. Hanging The Nihilist are supporting.

Thursday 5th
3 bands at Stengade: Møl (Aarhus), Numenorean (Canada) Gaerea (Portugal) Its all Black Metal , and remember ear plugs.

Chynna is the New name on the US Hip Hop Stage. Its storys about personal issues, and they are just in the corner. Nothing under the Carpet. Loppen are putting up the stage.

From NYC comes 75 Dollar Bill, which is a blend of experimental, Desert Blues, Middle eastern, Nordic Folk and much more. And then from Indonesia comes Rully Shabara and Zoo with Avandgarde Punk. Its all at Alice

Electric Guitars are a pair of Danish guys and they are playing rock at Amager Bio – Beta.

Friday 6th

Its Hard Rock when President Fetch plays at High Voltage. Get your ticket before it gets sold out.

Bjørn Svin has been doing Electronic music since the start 90´s and now he is a Underground legend. Here he is at Loppen invited by “Ved Siden af Live Sessions” and four other performers and DJ´s

Free promotion concert at Stengade with Danish Lyrics Faber, and Goldgoldgold which is more electronic.

The last Global dance Night at Alice is with Turkish Lalalar and there electronic psych of repetitive beats and strange sounds. They are from the triving scene in Istanbul and should not be missed.

Three Kopenhagen punk bands at Underwerket: Uphill struggle / Organiseret Støj / Too Close to call. Its all cheap, dirty and they have a good bar at Underwerket.

In The Jazz Club at Christiania they have a smoky evening with Trypical Cumbria, so there is more Brazilian dancing for you hips.

Saturday 7th
General Knas are Swedish Reggae Dub, and just wants one thing in there life. Legalize it!!! Its of course in Christiania at Loppen.

Ungdomshuset only have one concert this week, and with Physigue (US) and Urin (DE) headlining the Raw Punk Concert, there is something for just one taste. Also three local bands are on the Poster.

Børnemagt are having a birthday party at Bumzen in Baldersgade, Nørrebro. Its with Dj´s and also a street party.

Unfortunately I didn´t get a ticket for Swiss The Young Gods at Alice, and now its sold out for both Concerts. I remember them from the 1990´s and I believe I still have a Cassette tape somewhere. Its a bit electronic with a rocky beat.

Read This: “All of Europe will bow to the majesty of GWAR! We will destroy your cities and consume all of your drugs. We will bring welcome death to the most depressed, emotionally and sexually repressed people on Earth. I cannot wait to wreak havoc on your infinitely inferior plumbing.” Gwar are performing with Hard Rock at Pumpehuset, and don´t put on your new white shirt. This will be bloody.

Japanese Mono is Instrumental Rock, with many different inspirations. Its both Metal, Classic and Symphonic Rock, and they are at Lille Vega.

Hard Core Punk at Amager Bio – Beta. M.O.D – Method Of Destruction are performing with really really good Punk for your wasted ears.

Maybe James Brown Wasn´t the cleanest guy one a stage, and also sometimes an Asshole, but here sure made some cool music. Papa´s Got a Brand New Bag are paying covers of JB´s Soul and Funk Music. Its at Islands Brygge Medborgerhus.

Tuesday 10th
Old school Hip Hop at Loppen, when The Pharcyde drops by, for a throw back to th 1990´s and one og the best albums of the decade. It will be groovy.

Full Speed into X-Mas

We are entering X-Mas Month and Black Friday craziness, but luckily there are also somebody clever, who has invented Buy Nothing Day or Green Friday. I think I have enough of material things already, so I am doing like I always do – and buy the food I need. Which is not much, because I am also a Dumbster guy.
So stay cool. The material things will not make you a happier person. Love, affection an live music will.

X-mas markets are starting up, and you can find one in the weekend at Blågårds Plads. Jægersborggade Designmuseum Den Røde Plads Admiral Gjeddes Gård
Drinks some Gløgg and good Christmas Beer and eat some Brown Cakes and pepper nuts.

Sports

The Copenhagen Roller Derby Team are inviting for a Bout at DGI Byen, against the Madrid Cats. Its great fun and only 40 kr in entry.

Live Music

Thursday 28th
Frank Zappa is no more but you have the chance to see his soon Dweezil Zappa Performing the old Hot Rats album from 1969. It will be a great show for the Fans with extreme good music. Check out the Hot Rats Album here.

This weeks Reggae / Dub event is at Loppen with Lila Ike straight out of Kingston Jamaica. Supported by Kaka and some DJ´s it will be a an evening at Loppen with many rhymes and social responsible lyrics.

Theres some pretty hard experimental techno at Alice with Atrid Sonne. Also performing is Minais B which is more dreamlike ambient.

Friday 29th
Temples is a British band inspired by the 1960´s band like late Beatles, in a sort of psychedelic way. Here they are at Loppen, and I believe it will be a fabulous concert.

In Raahuset Jaguar Moon is releasing a new EP. Its simple, dark, minimalistic, atmospheric music with a good vocal, and you should give them a chance.

White Hills are from 2003 and playing “post-punk, art rock, goth, psychedelic rock, metal, stoner rock, ambient and experimental music. ” Supporting is Roxy Jules and Ring Them Bells at Basement in Enghavevej.

It´s on time that you get some Irish into your blood. The Dublin based four-piece Lankum are forging music that is dark, mysterious and transcendental. They are at Alice in Nørrebro

In Ungdomshuset, they have a four piece evening headlined by Venstres Venner and War Of Destruction from Aarhus. Both are pretty old Punk Bands, and still going strong. Speedpik and Cage Battle are also on the poster. Cash Only

In my own little neighboorhood you can find Urban 13 under Bispebuen. They have some pop music on the programme. Camelo and Seasex

Operaen in Christiania, has a Rap and Hip Hop evening with a lot of new names and rhymes. Fill your pockets with real Cash before coming.

Saturday 30th
Mdou Moctar is another new face on the Saharan Desert Rock scene. They are from Niger and are Tuaregs singing in the original language. Loppen are putting up the stage.

The two last time I have been at a Napoleon Solo concert I got laid. Will it happen again? I think YES 😀 . The Ska band are this time entering the stage at Raahuset in Halmtorvet Vesterbro.

Anti Fascist Punk concert at Ungdomshuset D61. Dårligt Selskab, Meat Fist, and Mötorizer are entering the stage. Dårligt Selskab is an excellent band, and it´s the first time in a couple of years they are on stage, so don´t miss the chance. Bring cash

If you like this sort of metal that sounds like Eurovision you should go to Pumpehuset and Dutch Delain. Then you will not get disappointed.

Salsa at Operaen with Brazilian A Banda Band playing samba, samba-reggae, frevo, marchas, afoxe, maracutatu. There is also a Carnival like dance Show, so get going all you latin lovers.

Dub Healers are out at Bolsjefabrikken in Østerbro, so bring your smoke and start swaying for. And bring cash for the Bar and the Donation entrance.

You should give Vanishing Twins in Vega – Ideal Bar a chance. Its strange futuristic pop music, and sounds like nothing you ever really heard before. A lot of strange sounds and comments to the strangeness of every day life.

The Smoky Jazz lovers, can find there way into Christiania Jazz club and Lærke Corfix.

Sunday December 1st
Get ready for some Hard core Punk at Amager Bio – Beta. Employed To Serve are playing, and they are a great band that will tear the dance floor to pieces.

Boris are Japanese, from 1992 and are performing a blend of Punk and rock with a very high energy level. They are one of the most innovative bands in the Underground heavy environment. So go to Lille Vega, and get a new experience.

White Lies Broke through ten years ago, and now they are back at Store Vega, with there Pop rock. They are playing there Debut album “To lose my life” from start to end .

Monday 2nd
It´s not often we get Malaysian artist but here is Yana which is soft pop and R´n B. Its out on Amager Bio – Beta

Support the small venues

I prefer concerts in small venues rather then the big arena concerts, with world brand bands. In the small places You are much closer to the stage and the performers, than sitting ½ a mile away and watch everything on a screen. And generally speaking I prefer to stand up at a concert. If you cant dance, its not my kind of place.
Another thing is the prices of the big concerts. It often cost 6-700 kr. and going up to 1000 kr. for a ticket. I would think it would be cheaper, when there are more people? If you are selling 10.000 or 45.000 tickets then it should be cheaper than the 120 tickets they are selling at a small venue. In the small places it cost 50 – 100 kr. I know there is a lot of crew and the show is bigger, and there is more security at the Arena concerts – But where is the money going? Into the pockets of Live Nation, who are the worst concert maker.
So you wont find me at Parken or Royal Arena. No matter who is playing. There are many reasons to find a smaller place. The beer is both better and cheaper. Halleluja and praise the Beer.

Cinema
If you are feeling board back home in your sofa, its possible to get some inspiration about what to do about it. Nordic Adventure Film Festival (Naff) is taking place in Cinemateket, and shows a whole bunch of movies. Then you can go out and do something yourself. You Live in Denmark. Another life is possible.

Wednesday 20th
For some Real Southern Blues, hear is your chance. Sagaray Rayford is the real thing, so join the party at Amager Bio.

There is female Rock for you at Lille Vega, when Le Regrettes are entering the stage. There is a lot of energy in the concerts, so go ahead and make your Wednesday special.

For some completely different and very authentic you can take a trip to traditional India with Lakha Khan from Rajestan. Its at Alice in Nørrebro.

Thursday 21st
Some smooth Brazilian dancing at Alice. Kassin are mixing all the genres of Brazil and just have that special unique sound from Rio de Janeiro. A warm dancing evening.

In Loppen a new record Company from Fyn are celebrating something. Its Indie from Fyn, with four different bands. The guest list must be enormous.

For a wilder experience go to Brønshøj Vandtårn and Mardh Laleh performing with electronic Soundscapes. Together with Sleep Parallax they while make the old water tower vibrate.

Vestjysk Ørken play cosmic desert fuzz with roots in 70’s kraut and prog. Spacy rhythms, bone dry fuzz, and a lyrical universe with inspiration from old horror and sci-fi movies. You can find it at Lygtens Kro.

It will get very Heavy in Stengade when Amenra from Belgium are dropping by. Its both quiet and explosive, so be prepared. Supported by E-L-R from Switzerland and Ylva from Australia. Most Probably the best metal concert of the week.

Bokassa is from Norway and are blowing your head of with Metal and hard Rock this evening at Pumpehuset. Maybe you already heard them when where warming up to Metallica at Parken.

Friday 22nd
In Ungdomshuset there is two Swedish Crust Punk bands ready to tear your ears of. M 40 and Crustches and Two local bands : WxoxT and Wolfblood. Cheap beer for cash only.

If you can get a ticket for the sold out Concert with DR´s Big Band and the new Chief Conductor Miho Hazama playing JAAAZZZZZ you should do it. I have a ticket and you should find one too. Its at the Koncerthuset.

Out on Amager they have Amagerbro Jazz Club. In Jemtelandsgade 3. Kira Skov are singing Billie Holiday.

In Culture Box they have a visit from organizer Hausfrau. They are bringing in DJ´s And this weekend its Margit Cacoon, who are headlining with Deep techno and House. Find your dance shoes.

There is Jazz at Christianias Børneteater. Horse Orkestra are playing. No link. Cash only.

Swedish Psych is full of energy and at Loppen there are two bands: Yuri Gargarin (Great band name from out of space) and Rumdstyrelsen (Also a bit spacy) together with local Måneskjold (Far out in space) they will take you out where there are no gravity and you can dream of flying.

Kogekunst are releasing there second album. Its a bit spacy and weird but also art pop like catchy and entertaining. You have to go to Alice to discover this new band. It will blow you away – sweet and gentle.

Pussy Riot are some of the bravest People I know. What these women have been through, are amazing and I think they are very Courageous. Here they are performing at Lille Vega with a Danish Performance artist – Christian Falsnaes. It might be a once in a lifetime event.

More fast and Loud in Ungeren with Trash Metal from Greece – Rapture and Norwegian Enter Obscurity together with Swedish Commando. No Cards or Mobilpay

In Pumpehuset “Motionless in White” are performing with there Arena metal rock. They are from Pennsylvania USA.

For some electronic vibes and dancing head out for Raahuset at Kødbyen. Sonohat, Chrivu and Tight Cherry are turning the tables for minmalistic House.

In Bumzen, Baldersgade Nørrebro, there is a release party for Cesspool, who have a new 12” out. War Goes On and No Nose are also performing. Punk

Holly Golightly are playing Awkward Rock with an inspiration from Tom Waits and with a lot of Twang. She is from the UK and are performing at Loppen.

In my view Pierre Dørges New Jungle orchestra is one of the best Danish Jazz Bands. Period. Here they are at a Matinee concert starting at 2 Am in Alice. Check it out.

I am sort of falling for Ezra Furman, and this Art Pop univers with simple lyrics. He is a Hero in the queer community and are performing at Lille Vega.

Wednesday
Bob Hund are performing at Vega. The Swedish band Has been playing rock since 1991 and are more vibrant than ever. It can only be a success .

We have reached the centre of November and we are still alive. Only 4 months to spring time. So what else to do, but go inside in the cold weather, and enjoy the fabulous night life in Copenhagen. The Christmas beers are in the shops (I am not talking about Tuborg) and soon we will be bathing in Gløgg with to many raisins, and will be eating Pebernødder until we puke. And then we know its X-mas. And The War will be over.

Wednesday 13th
Old news is good news. Drummer Emil de Wall is hosting a Classic all star Jazz party at Loppen. Also featuring 83 years old Nulle.

Thursday 14th
Jon Spencer is a legend in Garage rock, and a good friend of Loppen. Now he is back with his Hitmakers. Listen to it and get intoxicated.

Alice have a global dance night with Nubiyan Twist from Mid England. Its a dance Mix with African, Caribien, South American and much more, to get your feet moving and your Hips swaying.

Polyfeen is a local Psych band going back to the 1970´s and has still one member back. But they have just released old stuff from back then. Supported by Himmelflugt you can find them at Lygtens Kro

In Hotel Cecil there is a promotion concert with Collider. Its for free and sounds pretty good with exemption of the flute.

Welshy Arms is modern US Blues Rock, with a good voice and they have been in several films. Here they are at Amager Bio.

For some electronic landscapes, go to Lille Vega and Christian Löffler. Maybe it would be better at a church. Supported by Tim Andresen From Culture Box.

Friday 15th
From Mythical Timbouctou is coming another Desert Blues Band. Tallawit Timbouctou from Mali, are nomads and Camel (The Animal – not the Cigarette) herders. Desert Blues is the fastest growing world music right now. It can be a unique concert at Alice.

You could think That Death Machine was some sort of Metal, but your wrong!!! Its simple lofi singer-songwriter with soundscapes drifting through. Its a release evening at Stengade with Eik Octobre warming up.

Punk at Underwerket. The Amp, Bollocks and Organiseret Støj are performing. Say no more.

Orcas are Danish Beat Music, performed with lyrics in the local language. They are a three piece band and are really good, and worth going for at Karens Minde Kulturhus in Sydhavn.

There is DIY Rap at Loppen when the Rap Trio Injury Reserve are visiting Loppen. Its alternative, Mixed coloured and political.

The new Kid In Town is Urban 13, and its right next door to my place. They are slowly starting up with events and this Friday its Nuri from Tunisia playing Drums and Soul Pop from Soon.

Saturday 16th
Ko Ko Ko is congotronics at its best. They have previously played at Roskilde festival, and are a great dance band. Congotronics is a music form where it sounds electronic. The musicians from Kinshasa Congo, are so accurate on there Homemade analoque instruments. An evening not to be missed by all lovers of African Music. Its at Lille Vega.

Shoegazer and Post Punk at Loppen with a release concert for Pinemoon. Supported by two other local bands, that sounds better.

Lygtens Kro have three Bands on the stage this Saturday. Christian Hede solo, Cartographs and Xenoblight. Its arranged by Slem, and entrance is free, good beers at the bar.

In Ungeren Dortheavej, they have a mixed party on the Poster: ERAI (Berlin, Germany) Screamo – HANAKO (Warsaw, Poland) noise rock / screamo / desperate punk / no-hope lullabies – IVY CROWN (Copenhagen) , Melodic metalcore – SEE MORE GLASS (Hamburg, Germany), Post-punk – COSMIC WAVES (Copenhagen) Shoegaze, post-punk. Its cheap entry and warm beer for cash only.

It will be a cold streetparty when Konfront are celebrating a one year Birthday. Its at Bumzen. Cash only in the bar.

Find your finger horn and your old Heavy T-Shirt. The best Metal of the weekend is at Pumpehuset. Slægt, Morild, Sinnrs and Redwood Hill are performing, and it will be pretty good.

In Studenterhuset in Købmagergade Mikkeline & Flux are performing with Danish Rock, and you can smile and laugh for the funny lyrics. Also Bell Lungs are on stage.

Operaen, Christiania are having a good party: El Universe blends Turkish wedding music with live techno, and Smag På Dig Selv is straight from the Copenhagen underground, topped with dj´s it is a good evening. Cash only

Sunday 17th
A good dance evening at Lille Vega is Peruvian Dengue Dengue Dengue. The combination of local rhythms like landó, festejo and crioullo with West African and electronics makes it an incredible fine concert.

Monday 18th
Perlemor – Gry Bagøien is an old Friend of mine, and now she is back in Copenhagen in Kind Of Blue in Ravnsborggade. Its a bit jazzy, and also a bit weird.

Tuesday 19th
I guess it will be entertaining in Pumpehuset, when Oliver Tree drops by. His Live shows should be incredible, and his videos are funny and pretty self ironic. The music is alternative Electro Pop. Check it out.

For some Swedish Jazz / Soul / Pop , Then Bo Kaspers Orchestra is the answer. Its brilliant musicians who has been playing for ages, and here they are at Hotel Cecil.

Wednesday 20th
For some Real Southern Blues, hear is your chance. Sagaray Rayford is the real thing, so join the party at Amager Bio.

There is female Rock for you at Lille Vega, when Le Regrettes are entering the stage. There is a lot of energy in the concerts, so go ahead and make your Wednesday special.

Some years back almost all the men was growing a moustache, to support men suffering from all sorts of sex and Drugs and Rock n´Roll Deceases. And now I wonder: Where are all those small funny looking beards gone? Its movember. We need a good grin. 😀

In my own Little Hood there is a Small festival taking place. Sorte Firkant Musikfestival, is in the different bars and Concert places, Like Stengade Korsgade 30, Støberiet and Brorsons kirken. They Call it Alternative, but check it out yourself. Stengade is The main place, so check the program.

Thursday 7th

Surf Music has nothing to do with the Beach Boys. Its electric guitars – instrumental – and with a simple drum. The best and as far as I know, only local band, is The Tremolo Beer Gut. The are reuniting in Loppen with Orgelheimers as support band. It will be good.

Get Ready for Mosh Pit when Trash Metal band Sacred Reich are coming to Pumpehuset.

For something completly different go for Arrington De Dionyse in Blågårdens Bibliotek. Its very different from anything else, and with self built instruments.

Really new underground Rap at Underwerket this evening. Its a Battle Jam, so keep you ear out for words.

”Why You Motherfuckers Keep Staring At My Dick” Ravi Kuma are at Ideal bar – Vega. If you want to have some more new alternative Rap.

The concert with Kurdish Mizgin have a new etch to it after the Turkish Invasion. Support Kurdistan and go to the concert. She will also make an introduction to Kurdish Music and Culture.

Friday November 8th

In Loppen they have a Punk evening with 3 local bands: Big Mess (Ramones Style) , Kamp (Iron Maiden Style), Planet Y (West Coast Punk) Its some of the best local punk bands.

“Minyo Crusaders rework traditional Japanese folk songs (minyo) with Latin, African and Caribbean rhythms”. Its really funny and vitalising to listen to. If you are in for a dancing evening, then take a visit to Alice.

For some groovy Reggae/Dub go for Operaen in Christiania, and Dub Healers. I promise you. You will get healed. Hallelujah. And bring cash No cards.

Cyano is Polyrythmic Math Rock, and its at Underwerket in Valby. Good atmosphere and cheap beer.

It gets dark and Dirty in Northern discomfort in Ungdomshuset. False (US) and Dawn Ray´d (DE) wil be visiting and tear your ears to pieces. Remember cash. No cards.

Farveblind have gone more serious and teamed up with a new producer. So now for mosh pit for the electronic Duo. Pumpehuset are hosting the party.

It will be old school Lyrics and sing along at Amager Bio. Humleridderne and MC Einar are putting up a Show. Its time ti get the band together. Hallelujah…

Saturday 9th

My Friend Dorte is the One Woman Army behind A Mess. She is performing Indie Noise rock /with her guitar at The Bowery Room in Råhuset Vesterbro. Also performing are Bunny Wednesday and Me & Munich. Could turn out to be a good evening, and they have good beer.

I am not really into FCK and soccer. I just see it as billionairs exploiting the poor. Rude Lions are an antifa fanclub and they have their 15 years anniversary in Ungdomshuset. They have invited four punk bands for the event: The Restarts (UK), Social Decline (CPH), Nexø (CPH) and Rival leaders. (CPH). Cash only

Performance Køkkenet are in a collaboration with The Noisy Beehive arranging a concert in Huset. So its some sort of performance art and concert, and maybe you have to be a bit wired to like it. But being wierd is niiiiice.

Monday 11th

This is something I have not heard before: Surf and a twist of Garage blended up with traditional Thailand Molam and Luk Thung. The band is called คณะ เบียร์บูด – or Khana Bierbood and they are from Bangsean Beach – South East from Bangkok. Its at Alice

Ceremony is Post Punk with a Talking heads twist. After six albums they are still going under the Radar, but you can hear them at Ideal Bar – Vega. Support band is Mavourneen .

Mark Lanegan is former Queens of the Stone Age Guitarist and now he is solo at Amager Bio. The support band is Britsh Post Punk / Noise The Membrans, so it can be a good evening.

Tuesday 12th

Bombino is called the Jimi Hendrix of Sahel. He is a master guitarist and are playing The Desert blues of the Sahara. He was at this years Roskilde but somehow I missed his concert. Now he is at Store Vega.

But this is also now when you find most live events and Partys before Christmas hits us.

Wednesday 30th
If you miss Heavy Metal with a violin you can go for this Swiss Folk Metal: Cellar Darling are at Amager Bio – Beta and supported by Forever Still from DK.

Uganda is not often on the musical map, but with Nihiloxica, you have some electronic drumming on a really high level. So if you are into East African Drumming this is the time to go to Alice.

Willy Tea Taylor is from the cowboy land, and are performing singer songwriter style. Lygtens Kro is a perfect venue for this kind of Music, so now you know where to spend your Wednesday.

Thursday 31st
On this special evening Loppen are making an event with the showing of the Movie “Witchcraft Through the ages” (1922) By Benjamin Christensen. It´s darker than black. The ambient/jazzcore-duo The Plant x Izumi-San are making the live music. Ticket price includes Pop Corn.

Yellowjackets are not from France but from LA, and they don’t have a Riot on the program. Its funky Jazz at Amager Bio. I think it sounds like Weather Report from the 1980´s.

Halloween Garage Punk at Lygtens Kro. Küken From Deutschland and local Cesspoll.

Swallow The Sun is Finnish Doom metal. At Stengade they are supported by another Finnish band – Oceanwake – and Swedish October Tide. Its a Release concert, so have cash ready for merch.

Friday November 1st
In Ungeren D61, they have Belgian Hard Core Punk on the Menu. Supported by a Danish Band. Cash Only for bar and entrance.

I am quite blown away after listening to K.Flay. Its a rare mix of Hip Hop and Industrial. And she has a lot on her heart, so this can be a very good concert at hotel Cecil.

Punks undead in Underwerket. Whife Escape (back from the past in the 1980´s ) ilska from sweden, and In the Waves from K-Town. Ear plugs are a good thing. Post Punk and Hard Core

Moshpitt lovers should go to Killswitch Engage at Amager Bio. Metal will be bleeding out of your nose.

Binær is Two of the best technical rappers in DK, and here they are joining forces for there release concert at Pumpehuset. We will most Probably here more from Binær in the future.

In Stengade they have a visit from Sweden: The exploding Boy is Post punk / Guitar Rock. Two other bands, are on the poster Principe Valiente and Schwarze Fiction, and this is more Post Punk.

Aborted, Entombed A.D. and Baest. All in the same Metal evening. It doesn’t get more fast than this at Store vega. Bang your head until your Dead!!!

Saturday 2nd
Vigsø + Lars Virkli is Danish Lyrics Rap / Singer songwriter and they are at Stengade. Its good contemporary Music and social Lyrics.

Tangerine Dream are legends into Krautrock. The German band have existed since 1967 and are still performing, their electronic Psychedelic Music.

J. Fen Hapens and 0% are performing Garage Punk at Islands Brygge. Its arranged by Club Soja, and its a good place to go for this evening. 0% is Peter from Gorilla Angreb and Amdi Petersens Armé.

In Operaen Christiania, they are celebrating Dias de Muertos with a Balkan vs swing party. Live is Trypical Cumbria. An evening that will make you feet sweat.

in Culture Box, you have a good electronic dance evening ahead of you with Leftfield DJ set.

Skræp is not like normal rhythmic Music. This is Avandgarde – Free and experimenting Music, and its at Koncertkirken on Blågårds plads.

There is not much punk left in Steen Jørgensen. He is now mainstream, but you cannot take away that he is a really cool Crooner. He is here in a project with a band that is not Sort Sol. Its at Bremen Theatre, but arranged by Hotel Cecil.

Sunday 3rd
Some years back I Saw Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes at Roskilde festival. I can promise you that you wont regret this concert on Amager Bio. Its British Rock / Hard Core and Frank are always ready on the stage.

Old school Reggae at Loppen. Clinton Fearon from Jamaica are here celebrating 50 years on the stage.

I bet it will be an exciting party at Pumpehuset, when Psychedelic Porn Crumpets from Down-under are dropping by. It´s Psychedelic Rock at its best, so you both can have a stoner concert, or a dance concert.

Have you ever seen a Mannequin Pussy? Well its also a band name, and they are performing at Vega Ideal bar. Its Guitar based indie Rock and quite good.

Wednesday 6th
When Psyched Up Janis broke through with the Guitar Noise Rock in the start 1990´s we were all amazeded. One member cotinued on the Sex, Drugs and Rock ´n Roll highway, while the other have had enough and skipped the Music career. Now they are back together on stage in Vega, and its probably the last time in this decade.

Your Humble writer is back after a well deserved holiday. Now its just 2 months to Christmas and we can all say hallelujah. Keep up the spirit now – it gets darker. On Sunday you can sleep one hour longer. Hallelujah … !!!
And another Hallelujah for hallowen or whatever you find funny here in the end of October.

If you are looking for something different, there is the Copenhagen Mix film Festival. Its LGBTQ+ films about the troubles you can have specially if your are living in another not so liberal country. Check out the program.
In another 3 weeks we will have the Cph Pix weekend festival, so many reasons for sitting in the dark with some pop corn.

Thursday 24th
It been half a year since I last time saw Rebecca Lou on a poster. Now she is back with more energy at Loppen, with pop-punk-rock. Supported by two other Danish Bands: Big Mess and Firs. Lovers of deep electronics should find there way to Mayhem. The Third Helix (Uk) and Manisdrom (Jp) are performing. Its both ambient but also dance real Techno. The concert is moved from Alice.

Shotgun Revolution is a local Bubble Gum rock band, who keeps on coming back to Amager Bio. Good vocals and Erectional Guitar Solos.

For some Danish Melodic Singer songwriter go for Chorus Grand at Hotel Cecil. As a former member of Cancer, he knows his genre.

Friday 25th
Ghanian Santrofi are back after performing at Roskilde Festival this summer. Its High life and dancing this night at Alice, so if you have nowhere to go, and likes African music, you can move your feet to alicecph.com.

Ivy Crown is a new Arena metal band, who are releasing there new album at Amager Bio – Beta. Give them a chance.

Canadian, lumber jack, gangster Rap? Head for Evil Ebenezer at Loppen. The lyrics are really something.

The Line up at Operaen are: San Antonio Kid (DE), Halasan Bazar (DK/NO/UK), Tony Elastic and The Slackliners (DK).
Its all some sort of Garage, Psychedelic and Surf. There are also 3 DJ´ in the same still. Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood are inspirations. Cash Only

Interesting Alternative Metal at Underwerket. Two bands are performing: FIVE THE HIEROPHANT (UK) and Pensées Nocturnes (FR) Both are doing some opera like Metal, and maybe Underwerket is a too small room.

Dubfabrikken meets Tom Bauminista at Bolsjefabrikken. There will be groovy tunes and smoke in the air. Bring Cash for entry and the cheap bar.

Tame Impala played some years back at Roskilde, and as far as I can remember it was a good concert. Some of the members are back here with Pond, which is more acid than the indie thing with Tame Impala. Very good musicians at Loppen

There is smooth Impro Jazz for you at Alice, with Get the Blessing from the UK.

Angie Stone at Vega. She has been a Pioneer in Rap, and is now more like R n´B and with a professional attitude and a Smooth voice. But its Expensive at Vega, so you better be a true fan or win the lottery.

Sunday 27th
For some original Mississippi Hill Country Blues you are on the right day. And the right spot to be on this Sunday is at Alice where Cedric Burnside is performing. He grew up with the Blues, since his Granddad was RL Burnside. Its Cool.

You are not in doubt, when you hear the voice of Tina Halladay – Front person of Sheer Mag from the US. Here is a Woman with something on her heart. Its a little bit of glam, and some punk and very political. Loppen are hosting them on this Sunday.

Monday 28th
Tinariwen was the first band to break through with the Desert Blues style, from Tuaregs in Sahara Desert. Very dry and simple, it is yet also melodic. Support band in Amager Bio is Tuhaf, who are doing some Turkish 1970´s psych.

Underarchives is something as rare as Psychedelic Hip Hop. Its from NYC, and you cant help of thinking on drugs with this Music. Hotel Cecil is putting up the Stage.

Tuesday 29th
If your are looking for some Danceable Electro Pop then go for Store Vega and Metronomy, who are playing on this boring Tuesday.

Wednesday 30th
