So now we are into september, and the weather is still nice and comfy.
World music festival
Again this year, there is the World Music festival. Starting with a opening concert at the Town Hall Square, and going on until sunday. There are concerts and workshops taking place alle over the city. A lot of music from all over the world, and many of the musicians are residents in Denmark or the neighbouring countries. So it is not the big international names, but more local stars. Full program
On wendesday you should go and hear Rambo Banjo and the Slickpickers, playing blues grass at Bobuska in Linnesgade.
Kil Town
Kill- Town Death Fest, is in Pumpehuset, and also in Byhaven. A hole lot of metal a bands are ready to grease your ears with the sweet sound of metal. In byhaven it is free of charge, and indoor it is sold out.
Tech
If you understand the lingo, you will be a lot wiser. The Tech festival is taking place at the Meat Packing District in Vesterbro. A lot of talks, seminars and workshops. So a lot of nerds will be around. It is 200 DKK for a writsband and it is from Wendesday to Saturday. On friday You can go to Underwerket in Valby where there are a couple og young punk bands playing in ”punks undead vol 77”.
Loppen has an all girl surf band, off course from LA California. La Luz is playng with a swedish support band ironically called The Boys. Its saturday.
Also on saturday at Alice you can find the Danish /Turkish Takaf playing. In the 1960´s and 70´s there was a psych wave in Turkey from Ankara and Istanbul, and this is what Tukaf is about. Could be a absolutely faboulous concert.
More world music – but not part of the festival – at Operaen Christiania, when Balkan vs Swing are inviting the German band The Goodnight Circus for a concert. A lot of dancing in there, and with late night Djs you are in for a party all night. Bring cash!!!
Climate March
We are all concerned over the Climate, but who is actually doing something? Saturday September 8th is World Climate Day, with demonstratins all over the world. In Copenhagen it is at Thorvaldsens Plads at 1 PM. There are also a lot of other events. So this is your chance to raise your voice.
